I am thrilled to share a special update from our residential program, The Reagan. This past year has been an extraordinary journey of welcoming and nurturing the first group of resilient girls into our care. Designed as a sanctuary for girls aged 12-17 who have suffered the indignity of sex trafficking, The Reagan is their stepping stone towards reclaiming their lives.
At The Reagan, we’ve crafted an environment that combines evidence-based, trauma-informed care with unwavering compassion, offering each girl a safe haven to begin her healing journey. We implement our Theory of Change through the distinct phases of Safety, Connection, and Victory, guiding each girl through her path to recovery and empowerment.
Waco Chief of Police, Dr. Victorian visited The Reagan for taco night! Sitting around the dinner table she shared her story with the girls and answered questions about overcoming challenges.
Safety is our foundation. By creating a secure environment, we minimize risks of exploitation and establish a realm of trust, reflected in every facet, from our home’s design to the thorough training our staff undergoes.
Connection is where healing begins. Each girl is paired with a dedicated advocate, ensuring she receives the emotional support needed to navigate her recovery. This bond remains strong through every triumph and challenge, from academic achievements and forming new friendships to confronting anxiety and shame.
Victory marks a pivotal moment in each girl’s journey, symbolizing not only healing and reconciliation with peers, family, and community but also the achievement of personal milestones. This phase heralds the start of a journey toward a future brimming with opportunities, from acquiring a driver’s license to pursuing career dreams under the guidance of inspiring mentors.
It fills me with immense gratitude to celebrate the first victories at The Reagan, a testament to the perseverance and growth of our residents. Their journeys remind us of the profound impact we can make through collective support and faith.
The potential for transformation in each resident, regardless of the depth of their trauma, fuels our commitment. This belief is central to our mission, inspired by the love of Christ, which we know has the power to change lives.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to every individual who has supported our mission. Because of you, every girl who walks through our doors encounters a world of exceptional care and transformative love. Together, we are making a difference, one life at a time.
With great hope,
Brian Anderson
