About Unbound Now in Louisiana

In 2022, the Louisiana Legislature passed ACT 662, which provided state funds to contract with Unbound Now to provide Advocacy services for minor victims of human trafficking.

We saw our first clients in July of 2023. To date, we have served 308 clients in Louisiana with complete long-term case management services, and we have helped numerous other victims.

By late 2025, we had provided advocacy services to victims 15,512 times, provided emotional support and safety 2,202 times, and provided criminal justice assistance 204 times.

Unbound Now in Louisiana is a partner in the Louisiana Human Trafficking Collaborative, which also includes the Governor’s Office of Human Trafficking Prevention (OHTP), the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS), the Louisiana Alliance of Children’s Advocacy Services, the Louisiana State Police, and BCFS Common Thread. The Collaborative’s mission is to create a continuum of care and promote safety for all child victims of human trafficking through leadership, education, and advocacy.

Unbound Now provides specialized trauma-informed and victim-centered advocacy services for child sex trafficking victims identified by law enforcement, DCFS, healthcare professionals, school counselors, or other community service providers. Our advocates provide both 24/7 on-call crisis response and ongoing case management for survivors.

According to the Governor’s Office of Human Trafficking Prevention:

Unbound Now is set apart as a key leader in anti-human trafficking work in our state.

Our staff is also available for trainings and outreach regarding the prevention and identification of human trafficking. For more information, contact leadership or a local office.
