Susan Peters is the Founder & Chief Advisor of Unbound Now. In her role, she develops organization strategy, hires capable individuals, builds out the organization’s board, fosters a spiritual fervor, and builds strong relationships with partners. She is the former chair of the Heart of Texas Human Trafficking Coalition, which she founded alongside other community leaders in 2014.
Susan earned a B.A. in Communications from Baylor University and a Masters in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary. Along with her responsibilities with Unbound Now and the Heart of Texas Human Trafficking Coalition, Susan has served as an adjunct professor at Baylor University and as an elder at Antioch Community Church. Her role in the church and in overseas missions ignited her passion to fight the injustice of human trafficking in communities throughout America and across the world. She has trained thousands of community members and professionals at conferences and events, served survivors and their families, and facilitated the beginning of new Unbound Now locations worldwide. She has been recognized for her service with numerous awards including most recently the Pro Texana Medal of Service from Baylor University.
Susan was born in Michigan and raised in Richardson, Texas. Since graduating from Baylor in 1986, Susan and her husband, Marty, have made their home in Waco, where they raised their four daughters:, Jessica, Brooke, Anna and Lindsey. In recent years, they have welcomed three sons in law: Mat (Jessica), Cameron (Brooke) and Tyler (Lindsey).
