Kate brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a proven track record of driving positive change through her diverse career in the publishing, academic, and NGO sectors.
Kate’s journey is marked by a profound desire to unleash the power of the local church and lay a solid foundation of faith in the next generation. Her career trajectory is a testament to her commitment, from holding leadership roles at one of the world’s largest publishing companies to academia, and now as a Senior Strategic Alliances Specialist at Compassion International.
Leading Innovation for Compassion International
In her current role at Compassion International, Kate identifies new strategic partners and assesses partnership opportunities outside of Compassion’s core funding and program models to optimize the impact of their child development services globally alongside continuous improvement to workforce engagement and supporter experience.
A Connector and Innovator
With 20 years of experience in the NGO sector, Kate has filled various roles, emphasizing cross-team collaboration and heading disruptive strategic initiatives. Her roles in connector, brand, and culture-building capacities have led to the introduction of process enhancements driving revenue, increasing margins, and sustaining profitability in competitive markets.
Kate’s expertise extends beyond the NGO sector, including extensive experience in publishing, where she represented multiple New York Times best-selling Christian speakers and authors. She served as the Vice President of the Public Relations Society of America and as the Director of Communications & External Relations for Baylor University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science.
Passionate Advocate for the Next Generation
Currently residing in Boise, Idaho, with her husband Chris and their two sons, Brody and Beau, Kate’s personal life reflects her commitment to sharing the life-changing message of Jesus Christ with the next generation in innovative ways. Active members of their local church, the Amaya family also serves various nonprofits in Colorado, Texas, Idaho, and Kenya.
